DeFever is a timless classic, and most highly sought after of all the rustic trawlers of that erea. The boats bones are very solid and the engines are turn key and ready to run. She was just brought down from Maryland this year.

The bridge was just re-glassed and new non-skid replaced 5 years ago. The tops were replaced soon after that and are still in good shape. The Teak on the rear Cockpit is in excellent shape for her age. Everywhere you walk on the topside is solid as a rock.

There are many areas that need cosmetic attention on the inside. There were window leaks (all have been attended to) and there is a lot of wood work that can use attention. Everything in the Galley works, there is a new hot water heater, but the interior is Spartan.

While the engine room Could use a good cleaning and freshing up. both engines run excellent, all batteries are newer and the generator is currently being serviced and will be ready for the new owner.

Being a Maryland boat there is currently no Air Conditioning. This may be a problem being in Florida, but as there is work to be done on the interior this is a great opprtunity to have brand new units installed.

The seller(s) brought this DeFever down to the Keys with the intention on doing the work while living aboard. Then a 65' Bruce Roberts caught thier eye and their plans shifted in another direction.

This boat will need some attention, as noted in this Walk Thru; and is priced accordingly. You will not be disappointed in owning one of the most sought aft Trawlers on the market, as they fetch some serious money when resold in prime condition.

This boat is for serious sale and the sellers are willing to look at all reasonable offers.

The DeFever 43 is a heavily built, full displacement offshore cruising yacht whose flush deck design is unique in the world of midsize trawlers. Where the majority of double cabin trawlers are trunk cabin or sundeck designs, the DeFever 43 is a flush deck trawler with the aft deck and side decks on a single level. The result is a more versatile boat with a low-profile appearance—a really good looking small yacht in the DeFever tradition. The two stateroom floorplan is arranged with the U-shaped galley aft, rather than forward—a signature DeFever layout since he liked to keep the galley accessible to the outdoors. Visibility from the lower helm is very good, and sliding port and starboard teak doors provide quick access to the weather decks. The master stateroom and forward guest stateroom are separated by a large engine room with near standing headroom. Both staterooms have private heads. Typical of Taiwan imports of this era, solid teak cabinets and beautiful teak parquet floors are found throughout the interior. The simulated hull lapstrakes are a nice touch. With tons of exterior teak brightwork, the DeFever 43 is not a low-maintenance boat. Twin 120hp Lehman diesels cruise at 7–8 knots
