Manufacturer Description

Traditional beauty and the most sophisticated of technological amenities are two of the winning attributes that have made the Grand Banks 42 Classic an ongoing hit. Without a doubt, Grand Banks' consistent commitment to evolutionary design has kept this model at the top of the charts in terms of dependability and resale value. This, of course, comes as no surprise to us. One look at the 42 Classic's burnished teak-dominated exterior -- one step aboard its equally golden teak interior -- and the exceptional care with which this yacht is constructed is evident. The built-in comfort and convenience of the Grand Banks 42 Classic adds to its reputation. For trips both short and long, most find its roomy sleeping, bathing, and galley accommodations a treat. Even the engine room is roomy enough for all the essentials, plus a few "big trip" extras. Any way you look at it, the 42 Classic is an exceptional craft that holds its value and delivers top performance.

Walkthrough

HOUR PLAN offers generously wide walk around decks and a custom designed gelcoated transom, rather than teak. This gives her a clean look, and with her intelligently appointed brightwork (cap rails, brow accent,& nameboards)she maintains that unmistakable traditional Grand Banks presence but with far less exterior maintenance.

The flybridge is outfitted with a custom upper helm station featuring an angled face (to flush mount larger electronics), upgraded stainless steel rimmed steering wheel, two (2) Pompanette helmchairs (new in 2017) and custom guest seating with teak table and settees to both port and starboard. Both salon settees were reupholstered with Ultraleather Promessa (much more durable) Nov. 2019. Coverage from the elements is provided by a full mosquito enclosure, port and starboard sun shades, an extended Bimini enclosure"Oyster" by Sunbrella added inMay 2017, and an aft Phifertex sun shade added in Nov. 2018. The upgraded mast has a powered boom winch to make for easy launching of the 2004 model Avon Rover 310 RIB10' 2" inflatable tender powered by a 2013 Yamaha 6hp 4-stroke outboard engine.

Enter the salon area from either port or starboard doors to find the exceptional joinery known by Grand Banks' enthusiasts, a wonderful satin finish teak interior, teak and holly sole, upgraded Cantalupi interior lighting, Corian countertops and other features found on more current Grand Banks models. The salon offers an L-settee to starboard with custom varnished teak table with fold-out leaves and maple inlays, teak bar with bottle storage, additional settee and entertainment center to port with Samsung 28" LCD TV (new April 2016), Fusion UD-650 Stereo with Bluetooth (new April 2016) and there are Poseidon 1" bottom-up wooden window blinds (new May 2018).

The lower helm station with full instrumentation and helmseat reupholstered in July 2016 withUltraleather is forward to starboard. The custom L-shaped galley is to port, opposite the lower helm station, and provides an abundance of refrigerator, freezer, countertop and storage capacity.

The private master stateroom is aft with an en suite private head with separate shower, queen Island berth, desk/vanity and ample drawer and hanging locker storage. The guest stateroom is forward and offers a V-berth, plenty of drawer and locker storage, en suite private head and houses a custom installed, combination washer and dryer.

The engine room is well thought out and provides ample space to easily access the machinery for maintenance. Dependable Cummins 450 HP engines easily plane this boat yet are very economical for hull speed cruising.
