While other production builders have fiddled with lightweight structures, Hatteras has always favored practical and proven methods. The 68's hull bottom is solid fiberglass supported by a fiberglass stringer system and Divinycell foam-cored bulkheads. Coring is used to stiffen the hullsides, decks and superstructure. Like all Hatteras yachts, the 68's molded gelcoat finish is prepped and painted in a state-of-the-art coating facility. One of the many key features is the draft on this 68, while others in its size are over 6', the Hatteras tunnel design makes the draft on the 68c a 5'3".The 68 is so full of smart engineering details that it's easy to forget that her primary purpose is fishing, until you look around her cockpit—all 195 square feet of it, thanks to that generous beam.Step aboard this 68, and you will be mesmerized with all the space and comfort. VESSEL WALKTHROUGHAs you approach the vessel from the dock it will be love at first sight. You will be able to appreciate why Hatteras paint their boats, as you see from the distance the shinning of the massive structure.  The powder coated PipeWelders tower, blends perfectly with the Hatteras white paint of the enclosed bridge, making it appealing and with the new orange stripe and cushions, it sure stands out from the rest.  Once you step aboard the 192 square feet cockpit, you will find a RELEASE TEAK table with RELEASE TEAK Chairs for eight (8) people, that blends perfectly with the full TEAK Cockpit, in which the sole has been recently replaced.  Under the gunwale has a 12v connection for the electric reel on each side, also glendening cable on each side. SHOW TIME, has gone through recent upgrades that includes more refrigeration in the Mezzanine foot steps. As you keep heading to the entrance, the last step is a refrigerated drink box.  If you want to be awed, press button for the pneumatic entrance door, and the spacious salon with recently replaced carpet, new re-upholstered sofa, and dinnette, with the granite counter top, and cherry high gloss, will make you understand the success of the Hatteras 68c.  Show Time, has an upgraded Scotsman Ice maker, the big TV in the stbd side, with a second TV forward of the dinnette, making sure everyone is entertained.  As you enter the Galley you will find a total of 6 refrigerated/freezer drawers with the matching cherry high gloss wood, along with a trash compactor, and plenty of storage.  It has a 4 burner cooktop with a Convection Microwave on top, which covers up when not in use, with shutdown safety connector.As you make it through the stairs, this optional 4 stateroom 4 head layout, makes ideal for the big family enjoyment, as well as big fishing crew, to be comfortable accommodated with their own head for each room.The full beam master, has been the biggest selling point for this machine. The full king size bed, master closet, and drawers on each side, will make you never wanting to go back home.  As you continue to the bow, you will find a bunk birth to your port side with a connecting door access to the head. To the stbd side a side by side stateroom, convertible to queen size birth, with own private head.
